George Lindemann

First he desinged contact lenses and sold his business to Cooper Labs for $60 million in 1971. Then he acuired a New Jersey cable licenses and sold that to Vision Cable for $220 million in 1982. He then built a cell phone business Metro Mobile and sold it to Bell Atlantic for $2.6 billion 1992. The family now holds 28% of natural gas distributor Southern Union and a large stake in Verizon Communications.
